2024 Plans
2023 saw progress on several projects, but only 2 completed. That didn't stop me from taking on several new projects, so my 2024 UFO (UnFinished Objects) list is longer this year. I've been referring to myself as a quilting magpie ("Oh look, new pretty project! Oh look, I have to support my guild quilt challenge!" You get the idea). In 2023, I finished:
(from 2022) Quilt of Valour quilt (COMPLETED Jan 2023)
(from 2021) "Fabulous Feathers" Free-motion Quilt Challenge (Angela Walters) (COMPLETED Feb 2023)
For 2024, I'm setting myself the goal of finishing a minimum of 2 projects before I can even consider taking on another. I am looking to have 2024 be a low-spend year, and primarily only those things needed to complete one of the projects listed below.
2023 Plans
2022 was a year when I finished as many projects as I started, so I am neither further ahead nor further behind on my overall UFO (UnFinished Objects) count. In 2022, I finished:
Alphabet I-Spy (Panel)
Coffee Time (Panel)
I have discovered a lovely group of ladies and we've been having monthly (and sometimes more frequent) virtual sew days. I'm looking forward to continuing to learn how to work with the longarm machine I have, as well as reducing my UFO count in the coming year.
The projects below are in bold if I worked on them in 2023. If they are coloured, they were completed in 2023.
2022 Plans
2021 was an echo of 2020 - the world is still in a bit of chaos due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we quilters are happily working away in our respective sewing corners at home. Unlike 2020, in 2021 I managed to finish 2 quilts. They were:
2018-2019 Guild Mystery / Pieced, being Quilted - COMPLETED - May 9, 2021
(from 2020) "Skeewiff Learning with Style (Westalee Continuum) / Quilt blocks to be assembled - COMPLETED - Jan 31, 2021
I somehow managed to add 8 more projects to the list (😄 I might have a problem! ), I think the highlight will be the first completion of a Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt - in this case, I finished quilting FROLIC and all it needs is a label to be called complete! Looking forward to making more progress in 2022. In fact, I'm calling double time on myself. I am not allowing myself to start a new project until I finish two old ones. I'm only allowing myself to purchase any supplies to finish a project (no random purchases, no new rulers or other tools, and no new machines).
The projects below are in bold if I worked on them in 2022. If they are coloured, they were completed in 2022.
2021 Plans
2020 was a bit of a dumpster fire in general, but as far as quilting goes, my zest for quilting was re-energized this year. While no projects were finished from last year's list, and I somehow managed to add 4 more projects to the list (😄 ), I think the highlight will be the first completion of a Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt top - in this case, I finished piecing FROLIC! Looking forward to making more progress in 2021.
2020 Plans
A new decade and a new year mean an extra special chance to focus on UFOs. I completed one UFO in 2019 (Log Cabin Christmas Wreath) and I'm optimistic that the fact I'm refreshing this list of UFOs will result in further progress in the right direction. Although the goal is one per month, I've listed the 16 projects I currently have on hand to remind me I have lots available before I get distracted with a new shiny project!!
